This all-new 55 Amp alternator is designed for Type 1 upright engines and Type 2 vehicles, including Brazilian 1.6 aircooled models, (excluding 1.7-2L Type 2 models), offering an integral regulator for simplified wiring and installation. Originally based on the Bosch alternator fitted to 1974-1979 vehicles, this reproduction allows for easy access to internal components, including the regulator and brush pack, from the top of the unit, eliminating the need to remove the alternator during servicing.

Perfect for replacing outdated external regulator alternators, this unit is compatible with earlier models that have 12V electrics, making it a versatile and reliable upgrade for your vehicle's electrical system.
