Gearbox 31/8 'IRS' rebuild(4th gear 0.89) Beetle/K.Ghia/Type3

These gearboxes are also called 'Freeway flyer' or 'long box' and have a larger final drive and longer 4th gear.The gearboxes are completely taken apart, cleaned and checked. The standard ring and pinion has been replaced by a 31/8 version and the 4th gear by one with a 0.89 ratio, which allows you to go faster on the highway with a lower rpm. Everything else that was needed was replaced and the whole thing was put back together and tuned according to factory specifications. Completely ready to assemble so you can drive many carefree kilometres again.
